I am a senior at Saratoga High School in Saratoga, CA. During my sophomore year I was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy as a result of a life threatening illness. I am one of the lucky ones though--I am able to control my seizures through medication, have recovered my brain functions and health and am looking forward to the future. Unfortunately many with epilepsy do not share the same fortune--40% of the 3 million people in the US with epilepsy can't control their seizures with the current medications.
Because research is so important to finding a cure for epilepsy, I am working with my high school to raise money for CURE. We will be holding a benefit concert on February 10 at Saratoga High, with all proceeds going to CURE. I hope you can join us. Stay tuned for more information on ticket sales!

Hi Maddy,
We are good friends of Mrs. A and our older daughter, Rachel, was a student of hers for years, so we still attend the musicals at SHS and have enjoyed seeing you perform and sing so beautifully! We wish you the best and think it is wonderful that you are putting on this benefit to help others, too!
Best of luck,
The Balmas -- Denise, Frank, Rachel and Talia

This is such a worthy cause! I am confident that my donation to CURE will help us better understand and ultimately cure epilepsy. Having a loved one with this illness, I now have a better understanding of this affliction and its impact on millions of people that are affected.
Thank you for your time and effort!

Wow Maddy! What an amazing gift you have to stand up and make a difference. You've been through so much for such a young person - I'm amazed and inspired. I'm looking forward to your concert.
